Common questions about Rivvun
For QuickBooks Online and Xero, Rivvun uses direct OAuth 2.0 API connections. You authorize the connection through your accounting system's standard OAuth flow - the same mechanism used by other connected apps. Rivvun requests read-only scope at the consent screen; no write permissions are requested. For NetSuite, the current method is a structured CSV export that you upload manually or schedule. A direct NetSuite API integration is on the product roadmap.
Raw transaction-level P&L data is processed during the scan window and is not stored beyond what is required to generate and deliver flags. Rivvun retains aggregated per-category baselines (statistical summaries without individual transaction detail) to power period-over-period comparison. Individual invoice records are not persisted after the scan completes. All data in transit uses TLS 1.3 encryption. Processing infrastructure for design-partner accounts is operated within India.
Current support: QuickBooks Online (direct OAuth API), Xero (direct OAuth API), NetSuite (CSV export), and manual CSV upload for any general ledger system that can export a structured transaction file. Integration with additional platforms - including Zoho Books, Tally, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central - is on the roadmap and will be shaped by design-partner feedback on which systems are most common in their organizations.
Rivvun generates four signal types. A duplicate spend flag is raised when the agent identifies invoice amounts and dates that match or near-match within a rolling window across vendor name variants. A pricing drift flag is raised when a per-unit rate increases period-over-period above the configured threshold (default 3%) without a corresponding contract amendment event. A budget overrun warning is raised when a cost category exceeds 85% of its period budget with more than 40% of the period remaining. A contract cost creep flag is raised when a vendor's monthly charge trend increases cumulatively beyond the trailing baseline threshold. All thresholds are configurable per category.
Yes. After the initial scan, Rivvun maps your chart-of-accounts categories and presents a category list. You can mark specific categories as excluded from monitoring, adjust alert thresholds per category, and configure whether flags for that category deliver to Slack, email, or both. On the Enterprise plan, per-category threshold configuration is available via API so it can be integrated with your existing finance tooling.
